Author Alison Naomi Holt leaning against a tree

I write. A lot. I ride horses. A lot. And most of the time, whether I’m writing or riding, warrior women are running around in my brain, demanding I join them in their next battle. Or else hot butches and/or ultra-beautiful yet emotionally vulnerable ice queens are giving me the eye, and I’m winking devilishly back, full of confidence and looking like a million bucks. Okay, my imagination gets carried away, but still…

I promote reading wherever I go and believe literacy is the key to changing the world for the better.

Along those lines—the changing the world for the better part—I have always believed that there is a strong, capable warrior inside each and every girl and every woman in the world. I try to use my platform as an author to empower all womenkind by creating strong women warriors in my novels whose lives aren’t perfect but who stand up for themselves and their sisters, no matter what difficult challenges life throws their way.

Together, women can change the world for the better. Whether the world we change is no bigger than the block we live on or the children we raise or whether we change entire communities, women can and do make a difference. Believe in yourself. I do.

If you want to know a little about me personally, my previous life as a cop gave me a bizarre sense of humor, a realistic look at life, and an insatiable desire to live life to the fullest. I love all horses & hounds and some humans…

In addition to writing, I’m an avid horsewoman who grew up working on a cattle ranch in the Sonoran Desert. I own a bay, grade quarter horse, which means his background is as dubious as mine. (Yes the guy on the right is a sorrel. Loki is below)

I love adventure and have traveled to many parts of the world. My travels have taken me to Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, and New Zealand. I’ve visited Thailand and have spent a lot of time in England and parts of Scotland. Hopefully, once the pandemic ends, I’ll be able to continue to explore this wondrous world we call home.
